Sci Fri: Seed Science (Slow Sci)

Seed saving is slow science.
Not to mention a nice way to celebrate Imbolc today (halfway between Winter Solstice & Spring Equinox).
Ms. O spits and saves seeds then creates paper packaging and labels like a natural homesteader!

Since these seeds have been stored and drying, we prepared them for germination by wetting a paper towel and placing them in the fridge.

 Testing Homemade OJ

We've made an effort to examine what we ate this week to see if we can support the continuation of it's life cycle.

Saving Seeds (squash, coconut, clementines, grapes, apples)

Roots & Shoots (rosemary clippings, celery, lettuce, spring onion, avocado pit)

We added a little wooden February gnome to our Waldorf Calendar http://mamadrool.blogspot.ca/2015/01/waldorf-calendar-birthday-ring.html, followed by Elsa Beskow's lovely nature stories, The Children of the Forest & The Root Children.
