Sci Fri: Lavender Lemonade


With lovely bunches of dried lavender from our garden. we concocted a sour science experiment; a little alchemy in action.


Our first step was to remove the flower from the stem, which is easily done by rubbing the stems between two palms. The original recipe was from 'Pure Vegan', but we made some alterations.


Lavender Lemonade (& Popsicles)
~1 1/2c boiling water
~1/4c lavender flower
~1T honey 
Allow flowers to steep in water for 10 minutes, then strain. Stir in honey.
~3 lemons
Juice lemons. Add to lavender 'tea'.

Lavender 'Tea' & Fresh Lemon Juice

Once mixed, the lemonade turns a pretty pink!
Dust a few flowers in the lemonade and drink or transfer to popsicle molds.
