Bird Paper Cut

We took a page from 'Everyday Birds' to create our own version of papercuts.
Once we started working on a single piece, we realized the work that was 'cut out' for artist, Dylan Metrano!

I set out several shapes of hole punches, but O combined them with folding and cutting shapes on the black paper, before layering different colours underneath.

Baby C was simply keeping busy with hole punches. Next to scissors, these are the top of her list for interesting art supplies of the moment!
When I asked her,
"What colour is that blue jay of yours?"
(she announced she was making a blue jay)
She replied,
"Oh...red!"

Not only are the pictures bold and stunning, the poem is informative and catchy!!
Great addition to bird studies!
