Vegan Bites: Bunless Burger

Sun Burgers
On my quest to find the best homemade veggie burger recipe, I ended up with many fails.
Finally, I attempted my own recipe.


No soy.
No bun.
Yes gluten (oats).
Carrots gave them a lovely orange colour, hence the name 'Sun' burger.

Homemade Sun Burgers
~1c oats
~1/4c raw sunflower seeds
~2 carrots
~1-2 cloves garlic
~1 t salt
~pinch of sage (or other savory herbs)
~1T lemon juice
~1c cooked lentils & rice (leftovers? bonus!)
Mix in food processor until mixture is meaty and forms balls.
Form into 1" patties.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes on each side.

Use large green leaves to make a 'bun' to help hold patty,  tomato & avocado slices.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
