Pi Sky: Intro to Graphing

We missed Pi Day (March 14) but I thought this activity was a good introduction to graphing.

We started out by making a Graph Book (folding graph paper into a booklet) to show successive charts (ordinal numbers working up to non-ordinal and sporadic sets).

O quickly got the hang of colouring one square to represent one number as well as keeping one line of the graph, one colour. She completed 1-3 and 3-1 on her own.
My plan was to then introduce a sporadic set (to look like the skyscrapers of a city skyline), but she had already moved on to using the spaces to write letters and names!
